Registration - Frequently Asked Questions

REGISTRATION 411

Q: When does registration start?
A:
Registration typically starts at the end of October and proceeds until tryouts (typically mid-January).  After tryouts, registration will be taken based on openings for that division.  Registering early gives the league time to recruit and train managers, order equipment, and prepare schedules.

Q: What ages can play Little League?
A: Little League accepts all children between 4 and 18 as of August 31 of that season.  Children are placed in age-appropriate and skill-appropriate divisions.

Q: What do I need to register?
A: Little League requires a registration form and medical waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian, an original birth certificate, and 3 proofs of residency within the local league boundaries.  Check the boundary map to ensure you will be able to play for FALL.

Accepted Proofs of Residency:

  • Driver's License
  • Voter's Registration
  • School records
  • Welfare/child care records
  • Federal records
  • State records
  • Local (municipal) records
  • Support payment records
  • Homeowner or tenant records
  • Utility bills (i.e., gas, electric, water/sewer, phone, mobile phone, heating, waste disposal)
  • Financial (loan, credit, investments, etc.) records
  • Insurance documents
  • Medical records
  • records
  • Internet, cable or satellite records
  • Vehicle records
  • Employment records

Q: How much does registration cost?

A: Fremont American Little League sets a fee schedule each year based on the needs of the league.

T-Ball Cost for 2019:

  • $80 plus fundraising

    All Other Divisions for 2019:

  • $110 plus fundraising (10/1/17-12/31/2017)
  • $125 plus fundraising* (1/1/18– 1/22/18)
  • $150 plus fundraising* (after 1/22/18)
    • 1st sibling (2nd child): $10 discount*

Typically the fees increase closer to the season due to the extra work involved in getting players placed on teams.  Payment plans and scholarships are available. Contact the Player Agent for details

Q: Now that I'm registered, what next?

A: Practice!  Often a player hasn't picked up a mitt in 6 months when tryouts come around.  Make sure your child has a mitt and cleats for tryouts or the first practice.  Then go out and practice throwing and hitting to prepare for tryouts.  Tryouts in January will be for children 6 and above who want to play in the Minors, Majors, Juniors, or Seniors divisions.  T-Ball players will be contacted by a manager when practices start (typically early February).

* Fundraising commitment required per player: $75 buyout or sell $150 in fundraising products.
